For many of us, it’s human nature to focus on the negative aspects of life. However, we can continually work to focus on the positive aspects. It’s OK to feel sad or unsatisfied with your life. But how can you bounce back and reach for happiness every day?
Happiness for me is like a piano – there are so many different keys that have their own tune, but when played together, it creates beautiful harmonies.
It is those moments surrounded by the people I love, making jokes and sharing stories that make life feel worth living!
I find joy in being outdoors, whether taking a walk, sitting with nature, or simply basking in the sunlight. Gardening is another source of happiness for me as it allows me to create new life through nature, and I get to watch it grow and flourish!
Music is a sweet escape that I have been immersed in for as long as I can remember! From my dad teaching me to play piano to playing the violin for 10 years and singing in choir classes for even longer, music and music theory help me to stay grounded and find the light in darker times.
Last but certainly not least, traveling! To be able to explore, take in beautiful sights, gain new experiences, learn about diverse cultures, and see what makes a place unique is an adventure I seek and keeps my candle burning! When these components come together – like the keys on a piano – and play the melodic song of happiness in my life.
Choosing to look on the bright side not only enhances my mood but also cultivates resilience in the face of adversity! Staying grounded provides me stability in the ever-changing world and allows me to make decisions with more care and intention.
Additionally, choosing happiness aids me in relieving tension and draining out negative energy, which in turn leads me to keep a clearer mental and emotional space and find an equilibrium for stress and anxiety. I have found myself to be more grateful and content with my life as my appreciation for the little things grows! As my happiness intensifies, I create the life I want to live and give myself the space and grace I deserve.
You can incorporate happiness into your lives. Seek out new experiences. Make a list of the small things that made you happy throughout the day. Reflect on them at night, instead of reflecting on what went wrong.
You can also reconnect to old hobbies, and do things that help you recharge. Read, go outside, spend time with friends and family, take a walk, or watch your favorite movie.
How do you cultivate happiness?
